Chaotic Rhythms is an exhibition of sonic works that explore the various entanglements and intersections of gender and domesticity, work and home, the body and the environment. Against the backdrop of COVID-19 and its many social and personal complications, we encouraged the artists to step out of their comfort zones and utilize the sonic as a medium through which disruption, distortion, or duality creates a framework for sound pieces within the domestic experience. The exhibition features the work of Edzi’u, Helena Krobath, Brady Ciel Marks, Jeneen Frei Njootli, and prOphecy sun. We acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts.

Shimmering Horizons is a partnership between the High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom and Or Gallery Vancouver, Canada. Originally conceived as an exhibition for Canada Gallery at Canada House in London, the project has been adapted for online presentation due to the coronavirus pandemic. This virtual exhibition presents by Asinnajaq, Meagan Musseau, Marina Roy, Tania Willard, and Elizabeth Zvonar alongside texts by curator Laurie White, interviews with the artists, and a zine response by artist and curator Whess Harman.
